CHAPPED HANDS

Chapped hands are often caused by excessive exposure to cleaners, solvents, detergents and soapy water. This condition is characterized by small cuts or cracks in the skin.
People in the northern half of the United States and those who live higher in the mountains where there's snow and cold, as well as most people throughout Canada, experience chapped hands in the winter months. It is caused by the skin becoming excessively dry due to the lack of natural oils. In cold weather, the body's oil-secreting glands produce less oil, and what's left is often removed with hand washing.

    * Wash hands with Antibacterial Liquid Soap. Apply Renew Intensive Skin Therapy or Moisturizing Hand Creme. Massage into the skin until the oil penetrates. If skin cracks still appear, repeat washing and apply T36-C5 to all cracked areas. As the oil is drying, reapply the lotion or creme. Repeat this procedure as often as necessary.
By regularly using Melaleuca's Moisturizing Hand Creme throughout the day, you can frequently alleviate chapped hands and dry skin. In some cases, particularly where the hands are washed frequently or latex gloves are being worn, Renew Intensive Skin Therapy would be more effective.
