CHIGGERS

These are described as tiny red larva having a bite that causes extreme itching. Walking through the grass in the summer in the southern, southeastern and southwestern areas of the U.S. occasionally results in painful, itching eruptions on the feet, legs, and thighs. The female mite digs into the flesh and lays eggs that cause a sore. The larvae hatch and then bore under the skin, causing an intense dermatitis. Read the section on Scabies.
    * Wash the bite areas with Antibacterial Liquid Soap. Rub T36-C5 on the area of the bites each morning and evening. Follow by applying Triple Antibiotic Ointment to prevent a secondary infection. Large areas can be treated by soaking in a bath of warm water conditioned with 1 oz of Sol-U-Mel and 1 oz of Renew Bath Oil.
For prevention, apply T36-C5 to the bottom of pant cuffs, or spray pants and socks with 1 oz of Sol-U-Mel diluted with 7 oz of water.
