Exposure to freezing temperatures can cause ice crystal to form in and between cells, which causes cell damage. The skin stings, Itches, burns, and sometimes turns red and/or numb. Peeling or blistering may occur in 24 to 72 hours. Lifetime sensitivity to temperature may develop.
    * Protecting the body with warm, dry clothing can usually prevent frostbite. Pay close attention to the hands and feet. When frostbite is suspected, immediate action must be taken to warm the affected area.

Since numbness can be an advanced symptom, care should be taken to not overheat the area. Soaking for 30 minutes in water 100 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit is advisable. Then apply Pain-A-Trate to maintain microcirculation. Repeat the soaking and application of Pain-A-Trate every hour for four hours. Body Satin Foot Scrub. and Body Satin Foot Lotion can also be used to cleanse and stimulate Circulation. In addition to following these conservative measures, be sure to check with your health care provider.
The affected body part can become sensitive to cold after one attack and can easily suffer other attacks. Regular exercise and massage can help improve circulation in the area.
