ROSACEA

Rosacea is a skin disease of the face that usually appears after the age of 40. Small, red veins and inflammation of the skin develop on the nose, cheeks, or forehead and are sometimes accompanied by papules, or small knots, with fine scales on up to festering pustules.

The cause of this disorder has not been fully identified, but it appears together with certain other complaints, such as gallbladder disorders, chronic infections, genetically caused vascular weakness, and high blood pressure.
    * Avoid coffee, excessive alcohol or tobacco, and exposure to heat, as they can all intensify this skin disease. Treating the skin as though it has acne has proven to be quite effective. The Zap-It! skin care program certainly should be considered. See the section on Acne in this book.
Check with your health care provider for an accurate diagnosis.
