ALLERGIC REACTIONS

    Skin rashes, itching skin, sore throat, runny nose, sinus congestion, eye irritation, headaches and fatigue are common symptoms of allergy sufferers. While individuals vary in their degree of sensitivity to allergic substances, it is important to minimize discomfort and prevent complications such as infections. Many of the aromatic oils from Melaleuca alternifolia have local-acting, anti-inflammatory and desensitization effects.

    * Always try to avoid the allergen when possible. Your health care provider can help you determine the substances you are reacting to and begin a program to gain permanent desensitization. Applying T36-C5 directly to exposed skin reaction sites (hands, arms, legs, feet, scalp, neck and abdomen) usually neutralizes the local histamine reaction and reduces symptoms. A word of caution-do not apply any Melaleuca products near or in the eyes. Avoid rubbing the affected skin to prevent further irritation. Renew Intensive Skin Therapy or MelaGel can be applied afterwards to give long-lasting protection. Soaking in a bath containing 1 oz of Renew Bath Oil (and 1 oz of Sol-U-Mel if infections are present) offers an added soothing effect.
    Remember, allergies are the result of an unhealthy immune system so maximizing your nutrition is essential.
