JOCK ITCH

Fungal infections of the groin, commonly known as jock itch, can form ring lesions around the sides of the crotch. Scratching of the area can cause secondary infections or chronic dermatitis, The lesions may be complicated by secondary bacterial or yeast infections such as candida, The occurrences are chronic since the fungus may persist indefinitely or may repeatedly infect susceptible individuals. It occurs more often during the summer or when humidity is high.
    * Bathing in 1 oz of Sol-U-Mel and using the Antibacterial liquid Soap or The Gold Bar is helpful in controlling the fungus. After patting dry, apply Dermatin Antifungal Creme as directed. MelaGel, T36-C5, and Triple Antibiotic Ointment are also effective.
It has also been suggested that Nature's Cleanse be used as a deterrent to jock itch, as it is very effective on yeast.
Reduce your chances for re-infection by cleaning the bathroom areas using a 16 oz spray bottle containing 2 capfuls of Tough & Tender, 10 drops of T36-C5 and 2 capfuls of Sol-U-Mel in water. Wash all contact clothing in MelaPower and MelaBrite for additional protection.

ATHLETE'S FOOT

ATHLETE'S FOOT
Athlete's foot is a fungus known as tinea pedis. When the fungus infects the upper body, this is known as tinea corporis, or ringworm, causing raised and reddened rashes with clear centers. Athlete's foot is commonly found in athletic showering areas and long-term athlete's foot often involved the toenails and can totally destroy the nail plate and/or enter the bone. Blistering can occur when the immune system becomes sensitized to the fungus. It can usually be found between the toes where the skin has a greater tendency to crack, blister, or become sore and itchy. The infection will persist indefinitely until treatment is effective.

BARBER'S ITCH

This is caused by a fungus from an improperly cleaned razor, shaving cream brush, or electric shaver. Fortunately, the use of disposable razors and canned shaving foam and gel has made this fungus much less common. The rash leaves the skin slightly flaky and (looking) sore.
    * Three things that you might try: the Zap-It! products and the Dermatin Antifungal Creme. Follow the directions on each of these products. Also periodically add a drop of T36-C5 to your razor before
using It. Use Alloy Shave Gel and Alloy After Shave for a close safe shave and avoid this problem altogether.

RINGWORM

A round, reddened, often bulls-eye appearing rash anywhere on the skin is evidence of ringworm. Dermatophytes fungi cause the superficial infection (those that invade only dead tissue of the skin, nails, or hair). At least three different strains of fungi can cause ringworm. Household pets such as cats and dogs carry these fungi on their fur and skin. Some cases produce only mild inflammation and often go unnoticed and untreated, then gradually reappear in hot weather. Other types cause a sudden outbreak of a violent-looking rash with vesicles and swelling of the tissue due to a strong immunological reaction of the body against the fungi.
