BURNS

No burn is simple to treat! This is true for a first-degree burn that is red and swollen, a second-degree burn that produces a blister, or a third-degree burn that penetrates into muscle and deep tissue and occasionally chars the flesh. Infections, scars, and even shock can result if burns are improperly treated. Too much sun tanning damages skin cells. Ozone depletion in our atmosphere is increasing the amount of harmful ultraviolet rays from sunlight we are exposed to. There is an increase in melanoma skin cancer in those who are exposed to excessive ultraviolet radiation. Always protect your skin from sun exposure by using Sun Shades Sunscreen. Use Sun Shades After Sun Hydrogel E after a day in the sun to instantly cool overexposed skin, reduce redness, and soothe dryness.

    * Immediately flush a fresh burn with cold water and apply ice and continue until the area is cold. Pat dry and apply T36-C5. Then cover with a thin coat of Renew Intensive Skin Therapy. Take ProVex and/or ProVex-Plus daily to speed recovery and reduce scarring. Most first-degree burns will subside very soon. Repeat the T36-C5 and Renew Intensive Skin Therapy application every hour until pain is gone.
For second-degree burns, apply T36-C5 and Pain-A-Trate each hour until pain and swelling are gone. If the burn does not show signs of healing, seek medical care if you haven't already.
Third-degree burns require professional care immediately, since deep blood vessels, nerves and lymphatic vessels in the skin are damaged. After cold applications, apply T36-C5 and Renew Intensive Skin Therapy or Triple Antibiotic Ointment. Cover with a sterile covering. Contact your health care provider immediately!
It is always wise to keep a bottle of T36-C5 in the kitchen for treating grill and fryer burns. Melaleuca altenifolia oil provides an anesthetic-like action. It soothes and alleviates most pain on contact. It also will help prevent blistering and even scarring. Since infections nearly always develop in severe burns, frequent applications of T36-C5 will help stop itching and accelerate healing.
For other types of burns, see the sections on Radiation Burns and Razor Burns.
