If the object that caused the injury was dirty or exposed to disease causing organisms, extra care must be taken in thorough cleaning. Cuts should be treated soon after injury. Serious cuts can lead to further complications and should be treated by a health care provider immediately.
*Clean the affected area with a washcloth, warm water, and Antibacterial Liquid Soap and/or Sol-U-Mel. Pat dry and apply T36-C5, followed by Renew Intensive Skin Therapy, MelaGel or Triple Antibiotic Ointment. Cuts heal faster and have less opportunity to develop infection if this suggestion is used as soon as an injury occurs. Keep the cut clean with a bandage and check the healing progress daily. Reclean and apply new bandages as often as needed. Deep or wide cuts may require a visit to your health care provider for suturing.
WARNING: Tetanus can occur when cuts are deep or contaminated, If it has been more than five years since your last tetanus shot immediately contact your health care provider. The majority of victim~ dying from tetanus are older adults who have not kept current on their booster shots,
